This sea scooter tour in Moorea was easily one of the most incredible experiences of our entire trip. From start to finish, the guides were friendly, professional, and made everyone feel comfortable in the water. Even my mom, who is usually nervous about anything adventurous, gradually gained confidence with the sea scooter thanks to their patience and encouragement. By the end, she was having a great time, however, she still remained hesitant about going into the deeper water. The guides patiently led her back to the boat, where she enjoyed the view of rays up close while my father and I swam in the deep end. Using the sea scooter felt like entering a completely different world. The water was crystal clear, and we were able to explore areas and see marine life in a way that would have been impossible otherwise. Beyond the rays that the guides feed, I was thrilled to spot a spotted eagle ray gliding through the water and several beautiful sea turtles swimming in the wild. Seeing these animals in their natural habitat was absolutely unforgettable.

Moorea Water Games Sea Scooter Snorkel Tour ! Magnifique .

First off, my wife, son and I have snorkeled quite a bit at most of the islands of Hawaii, Fiji, the Caribbean, and previously in French Polynesia 8 years ago. Suffice it to say, we are somewhat spoiled when it comes to outstanding snorkeling.

We had a couple of days in Moorea after our cruise and decided to book an excursion. I booked the Sea Scooter Jet Snorkeling & Safari for myself, my wife and son easily on TripAdvisor. The co-owner/operator, Nico responded quickly to my emailed questions about the tour.

On the day of the tour, we boarded a boat at the Sofitel Hotel-Moorea with Nico Moizé and Captain Poto, co-owners of Moorea Water Games with Nico serving as our in-in-the-water guide and Captain Poto manning the helm of the boat. Moorea Water games provides all the gear including wetsuits as well as refreshments during the tour. On this particular day, we were the only 3 people in the group so it was like having a private tour!

The tour was outstanding and Nico knows where to look for interesting sea life! We saw many beautiful corals, all kinds of fish, friendly stingrays, and sea anemones in the crystal-clear waters surrounding Moorea. The sea scooters are easy to operate and even my wife who was initially uncomfortable in the water got the hang of using the scooter with both Nico and Captain Poto's patient, calm approach. Captain Poto takes you to a spot with a very friendly 15-year-old stingray who likes personally greet each snorkeler.

We also bought the video and photo package when we arrived for the tour which is well worth the money! Nico has very high-quality photo/video gear; is a skilled videographer/photographer and was able to capture some excellent video and photos of our tour. The finished video and photo files are outstanding! We also brought our GoPro along to take some additional pics of the tour, of which are included on this post.

Both Nico and Poto are highly professional, very friendly, and go out of their way to provide an excellent snorkel tour. If you get the chance in Moorea, we highly recommend the Sea Scooter Jet Snorkeling & Safari!
